The Revolution Will Not be Digitised

The revolution will not take place on the World Wide Web
The Net? The Web? Unless you’re the spider it’s a trap
Benefits no doubt but more har(a)m done by agent provocateur
Argumentation, ego inflation, inexpert opinions; cult of the amatuer

 { – }

The irony of writng this on a blog was not lost.  Feel the need to “unplug”, I will be fasting from the WWW for a few days.

Take care all, peace and blessings.

  1. We all need a break from the Web on occasion—hope yours is full of peace and clarity, and I look forward to when you come back. 🙂

  2. Peace be upon you,

Dont be sad would very much hope that it’d be a corner, even a little corner of benefit…

    Dont be sad

  3. what revolution?
agree with you about the web being a ‘trap’ but also think there is a great opportunity for communicating and connecting disparate people and ideas. at the moment most of the web is nothing but information. but if, collectively, we can move past this stage and build some knowledge foundations, (music has the power to do this) then there’s a chance of making the leap to wisdom…this for me is something worth ‘fighting’ for. information<knowledge<wisdom.
don’t give up the fight, it’s only just begun.

  4. W’dup Musicologist, welcome to my blog.

I wrote this after feeling dejected from an online “debate”, Muslim issues.

The rise of the net is inevitable and you’re right hopefully the way we use this tool will improve. I have found much wisdom on the net, bumped heads with some nutters as well!

  5. Assalamu’alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I feel in life everything around us are double-edge swords, whether its the web or other things, if not done moderately, can have a negative impact or ‘trap’ as mentioned above.

  6. Wa ‘alaykum as salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, ahlan wa sahlan!

Sound advice, the key word as you mentioned is ‘moderatley’. The middle way is our Prophet’s way (peace be upon him).
